Food and teaching are two of Geraldine Sarnataro’s lifelong passions. With a background in Education from New York University, and Developmental Psychology from Columbia University, Gerri went on to pursue her love for food and earned a degree in Culinary Arts from the French Culinary Institute. Upon graduation, Gerri worked in several of New York City’s finest establishments including Lavin’s, Woods, and the three-star rated Aureole. Gerri was also Chef and owner of a New York City catering business and retail shop, serving New York City clients in the fashion industry and business world. Gerri is now combining her two passions of food and teaching at The Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan, where she teaches professional level pastry arts, culinary classes, and a variety of specialty classes on bread making, pizza making, and Italian home cooking. Concurrently, Gerri is founder of Cucina della Terra, her very own cooking school located in Umbria, Italy. At Cucina della Terra, Gerri she is fulfilling her longstanding dream of sharing her love for Italian food, culture, and landscape.
